Thermodirect labels are labels that have a layer that allows this type of label to be printed without a rubber band for printing labels. They differ from the heat transfer labels in terms of characteristics. They are used as labels in various fields, most often thermo direct labels are used for scales in stores. Thermal transfer labels are easier to print by the operator of the machine in which they are used. Thermal transfer labels have a chemical layer as in cash registers, when heated the labels may darken and are therefore used mainly in fast moving consumer goods.

Thermodirect labels are a combination of carrier pad, face material and adhesive layer, the face material is made of different types of label paper. The production of thermodirect papers is based on uncoated paper, which is transformed into thermodirect paper by applying an additional chemical coating. The first chemical layer, the lower layer, prevents the spread of heat generated by the thermal head on the paper. This provides better label resolution when printing at low energy.
The second chemical layer, the thermal layer, contains a dye and a developer. At a temperature of 250 C, the thermal substrate melts, bringing the dye to contact with the developer and forming a thermal image. The bond between the two chemicals in the thermal layer is quite fragile and can be broken by contact with grease, plasticizers or water, thus fading the printed image. Additional coatings are added to protect the thermal layer.

Features:
Thermodirect paper with high sensitivity, without protective coating. Labels made of this paper have limited resistance to scratches and smudges and low resistance to contact with plasticizers, grease and water.
Print speed: up to 300 mm / sec
Application:
Suitable for information labels in a dry, non-aggressive environment with low humidity. Used for labels for electronic scales in supermarkets and other retail applications where labels have a short life

Thermal Top

Features:
Thermodirect paper with standard sensitivity, with a protective coating on both sides of the thermal layer. Labels made from this paper have very good resistance to scratches and smudges, as well as to plasticizers, grease and water. It has good protection against chemical and mechanical influences, high humidity and low temperatures.
Print speed: up to 200 mm / sec
Application:
Suitable for labels with universal application, product labeling with requirements for good image resistance to the environment, in areas such as the food industry (for frozen products), retail, transport and logistics.
The labels of this paper are suitable for pre-printing with all methods, including flexo (with water-based inks, alcohol-based and UV inks), letterpress and offset.
