PROTECTIVE LABELS

Protective labels leaving visible traces on the surface of the product by breaking a layer of metallized polyester film after peeling off the label. These labels are used as protection against unauthorized handling of certain goods (change of the product warranty period) or for protection with a label against opening the labeled product. An attempt to remove the label on the surface of the product leaves an imprint ("VOID", "STOP" or chess imprint) or "FOAMTAC" in which the label is deformed and torn and there is no possibility of re-gluing.
In recent years, YANEV PRINT specializes in the production of security labels, which serve as a means of protection against improper opening of the product packaging or a means of preventing falsification of information on the product.
The security label shall be affixed in a conspicuous place and shall clearly indicate the purpose of the seal, as well as the consequences arising from attempts to remove it. Various information, different barcodes and / or serial numbers can be printed on the labels, thus providing unique identification and proof of authenticity at each stage of logistics. Labels with intact integrity show that the factory product is sealed and original.
Why use your labels as a means of combating counterfeiting?

Labels protection
Labels can be an extremely useful and effective way to protect your products from counterfeiting and counterfeiting, as well as to determine the authenticity of an item during all stages of the supply chain. There are a wide variety of packaging systems that are also very useful in the fight against counterfeiting, but security labels are perhaps the easiest and most recognizable way for consumers to determine the authenticity of a product.
In recent decades, label manufacturing technologies have evolved extremely rapidly. This development helps manufacturers choose the most appropriate technology to protect their products. Modern technological capabilities allow the printing of labels with explicit or implicit elements that serve to prevent counterfeiting.
Obvious elements: their name reveals exactly what they represent. These elements are located on the label and are visible to consumers. They are usually a more economical choice than hidden items. Examples are special foils, laser cutting of unique small shapes or images on the label, protective VOID labels, destructible labels and some special effects such as holograms, hot or cold foil printing, tactile sign printing, printing with special thermal transfer ribbons and etc. The more and more complex the obvious elements used to label a brand, the more difficult and expensive it will be to counterfeit it.
Hidden elements: these security measures are not visible or easily understood by buyers (and potential counterfeiters), but are hidden elements that are used as additional protection and / or to track products throughout the supply chain. Often a special device or the use of a reagent is needed to read them. These are labels printed with special protective inks - UV fluorescent inks, special heat-sensitive or moisture-sensitive inks, inks with built-in fragrance, inks or papers containing a marker that is detected by special electronic detectors. Special thermal transfer tapes with built-in security features, paper with built-in threads or colored inner layers are also used.
For better security, counterfeiters recommend the use of several types of protection in a combination of overt and covert elements. However, the specific combination depends to a large extent on the product itself, the brand, the risk of counterfeiting or counterfeiting and the budget of the manufacturers.
YANEV PRINT has a wide range of modern, flexible solutions that can be coordinated with your specific application to offer you the most secure and appropriate solution for your business.
VOID security labels
This type of protective labels are made of a unique combination of adhesive layer and laminate. VOID labels are difficult to remove, and in the event of an attempt to remove them illegally, the base is layered and a clearly legible "VOID" label on the label or product is revealed. The peeled coating cannot be put back on without visible traces. Labels whose integrity is not compromised indicate that the product is sealed and original. Due to this special quality, VOID security labels are used as a warranty sticker, protection against unauthorized opening of the product packaging and a way to prevent falsification of information on the labeled product. VOID labels are made of durable polyester and are most often printed using a thermal transfer label printer or full color digital printing. They are used in many industries, including electronics, trade and logistics.
Self-destructive labels
Self-destructive labels
Protective self-destructive labels are most often made of vinyl-based foil and strong permanent adhesive. Characteristic of these self-adhesive labels is that the adhesive bond between the label and the surface on which it is placed is stronger than that between the different layers of the label. Thus, when an attempt is made to peel off the self-destructive label, it breaks and / or delaminates. It is impossible to re-glue it, leaving an obvious trace of intent to forge. For the best quality and sustainable result, protective self-destructive labels are printed with a thermal transfer printer using a rubber thermal transfer ribbon.
Like VOID labels, only destructible labels can be used for warranty stickers and product markings in many different industries such as electronics, home appliances, automotive and pharmaceuticals. Both types of security labels can be printed with a variety of information, barcodes and serial numbers that provide each product (or part of a product) with unique identification, tampering data and proof of authenticity. As a result, the risk of counterfeiting and counterfeiting is significantly reduced.
RFID protection labelsRFID labels and QR code labels
One of the most secure security technologies is to place a unique code on each product by printing a QR code or embedding an RFID tag in each label.
These tags use RFID - a technology that allows you to encode and read multiple digital information in RFID tags. They are also called smart labels and are most often used to identify and track products, as well as as a means of protection against counterfeiting or theft. RFID tags for these applications are self-adhesive paper or foil tags that have a built-in antenna and chip. They can be printed and encoded with special barcode printers for thermal transfer printing of labels that have an RFID module. An alternative way to produce personalized RFID tags is with flexo printing or other traditional technology, after which the antenna and chip are built into them. These components of the label allow a large number of tags to be read at the same time in a short time, and the RFID reader does not have to be in direct visual contact with the labels. Items can be traced while still in cartons before being placed on shelves.
Smart tags are used as an anti-counterfeiting tool because each RFID tag has a unique, unique identification number that cannot be repeated or falsified after initial coding by the manufacturer. They are also an ideal solution for protection against counterfeiting, because every customer with a smartphone with a built-in NFC reader can read the data written on the label and check in the manufacturer's database whether the item is genuine. The QR code is used in a similar way. An additional marketing advantage is that consumers can thus receive additional information about the product and the brand, such as promotions, origin, games, care instructions and more. This ability to "communicate" with customers via smart RFID tags and QR code labels promotes trust and confidence in the brand and therefore increases their chances of re-purchasing a product from the same brand.
Hologram labelsHologram labels
Another type of labels that have developed significantly in recent years and become powerful tools to prevent counterfeiting are holographic labels. They are one of the most difficult to counterfeit, as the holographic imprint cannot be copied.
They are of different types, depending on the security requirements of the specific product and therefore the degree of protection that the label must offer. Holographic labels with a lower degree of protection are made of holographic foils for cold foil printing, hot stamping or special thermal transfer tapes. They are a more economical solution and are most often used for initial product identification and authentication of the product during the logistics process. For maximum security, high-security holographic labels are made with a personalized holographic image containing a wide variety of security features of this technology. They are a more expensive solution that is suitable for specific applications in electronics, pharmacy, cosmetics, trade and more.
Protective labels with special ink Labels with special protective inks
Inks with unique properties are available on the market, which can be successfully used for the production of labels with protective functions. UV, heat-sensitive, moisture-sensitive or pressure-sensitive inks are often used, which change color once. They are often used to print warranty labels - they act as an indicator of an event such as the label's exposure to UV light, temperature, humidity or pressure. They are also used as a means of protecting the product from counterfeiting - UV fluorescent inks glow in a certain color when irradiated with UV light, and inks with built-in fragrance begin to emit odor after rubbing.
In conclusion, many different unique technologies have been developed in recent years to protect products against counterfeiting and counterfeiting. To choose the most appropriate solution for your brand, you need to consider your budget, the risk of counterfeiting and the requirements of the specific application.
